Stables & DIY Livery
We run a friendly, professional and well managed yard at Richmond Equestrian Centre – The highest standard of care and attention for your horse at all times with use of our facilities.
All horses must be up to date with annual vaccinations and a copy of your horses passport must be provided (copy taken for our records), before being considered for livery at Richmond Equestrian Centre. No horse will be accepted for livery until we receive a recent, negative strangles blood test from your vet, at your expense. Your horse will then spend up to 2 weeks in isolation, before being allowed on to one of our livery yards, (your horse will still have access to a paddock whilst in isolation and you are still able to exercise your horse in our arenas or out hacking – as long as no contact with any other horses is compromised).
Richmond Equestrian Centre – Livery Yard & Facility Centre – is a Highly Approved Member of the British Horse Society (BHS), a Gold Member of the Premium Assured Strangles Scheme (PASS) and has achieved the Keeping Britain’s Horses Healthy (KBHH) Certificate of Excellence. We are also a Stamp Out Strangles Champion Yard as well as Ambassadors for Redwings Horse Sanctuary an their campaign to Stamp Out Strangles.
Basic DIY Livery starts from £200 pcm, this price includes a good sized stable and a well maintained private or shared paddock.
Inclusive of premium straw, for bedding, is an extra £50 pcm. Clients are welcome to buy in and use Rape Straw as an alternative (we will store free of charge on site). Shavings are not allowed at REC due to our strict recyclable policy.
We sell excellent premium meadow hay/haylage on a weigh & pay as you use basis, (currently 15p per kilo). Alternatively, you can buy in your own hay/haylage & store it at REC to use at your convenience.
We run a strict Worming and Vaccination Policy at REC, together with GDPR, Fire, Health & Safety, Bullying and EDI Policies.
As a livery client you have access to covered Claydon horse walkers, wash boxes with heat lamps, secure tack rooms, allocated REC arenas, cross country fields for hacking (as well as jumping when available) and there are many local public bridleways. Clients also have use of a Polaris gator, to assist poo picking paddocks
We also run the 3 Valleys British Riding Club from REC which started a few years ago. We now have over 300 members and each week we have a several lessons to choose from… Showing, Flat work, Pole work, Grid work, Dressage, Show jumping, Cross country, the list goes on! The cost to join 3VRC is £30/year, prices for lessons vary but are very popular and extremely successful… with a lot of members going on to the many British Riding Club Championship events around the country.
We also offer Overnight Stay or Day Stables in a designated area in 5* permanent stone stables, right next door to our Arenas. Please contact us direct for further details.
All Livery clients are asked to take out the Stamp Out Strangles Pledge too: https://www.redwings.org.uk/strangles/make-a-pledge
