Richmond 2018 Dates:
Friday 4th May 2018 – Sunday 6th May 2018
Friday 31st August 2018 – Sunday 2nd September 2018

XC schooling dates are Tuesday 8th May (9am - 6pm), Saturday 12th May (10am - 6pm), Sunday 13th May (10am - 4pm).  Last horse 1 hour before closing time.

We are now well under way with the preparations for the 2018 events.  Despite a wet start to the season, we are looking forward to running our usual 2 events in 2018.  Initial reports show that the ground is in peak condition with good grass coverage.  The ground at Richmond is managed extremely carefully throughout the year with the Horse Trials in mind in order to maintain the high reputation that we have built up over the years for perfect going conditions.

Jamie Innes, our cross-country designer has been working closely with Moray Nicholson, our course builder, to create his usual interesting and stunning courses for the competitors with plenty of questions for both horse and rider.  Two water complexes add to the variety of the 4 courses with all competitors taking them on.   The new bank that was commissioned for the 2017 will give all riders apart from the BE90’s a challenge once again.

Donna and Rennie Wood, who manage the Arenas at Richmond Equestrian Centre, have been working hard to ensure that the show jumping arenas are in their usual tip-top condition for the event.  The courses will be designed and built by Tracy Barraclough once again so expect to see some impressive tracks in an outstanding location.

At each event we are proud to support two charities that are close to our hearts.  Once again we will have our charity tent overlooking the cross-country course.  This will be open to all and for a donation to our two nominated charities you will be able to enjoy a selection of tea, coffee and cake.

At this May Event, we have chosen to support The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Helen Hinton who is taking on the Best Western Hotels and Macmillan Ride of their lives 2018 at York Racecourse on16th June.  Helen is training weekly with Phil Kirby and his team at Middleham, and is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are extremely grateful to our army of volunteers without who it would not be possible to run the events to such a high standard.   We are always looking for people with or without equestrian experience to join our team.  Please get in touch if you feel you can help.

Also, we would very much like to thank our incredible sponsors.  Millbry Hill being the title sponsor and our Headline sponsor, The Golden Paste Company.  All the section and fence sponsors are listed below.  Without the amazing generosity of these companies we would not be able to run our events.  We are extremely grateful for their support.
